Calcification (Osteoarthritis)

What is knee arthritis?

The knee is one of the most common joints affected by arthritis and is characterized by knee pain. Symptoms such as stiffness and swelling in the knee joint, limitation in knee movements, crunching sound in the knee during movement, deformity in the knee joint or legs may indicate arthritis.
Knee arthritis is the wear and tear of the cartilage structure in the knee joint over time.

What are the symptoms of knee arthritis?

The primary symptom is pain in the joints. In some patients, it may progress without showing any symptoms. As the degree of arthritis progresses, limitation of movement, difficulty in climbing up and down stairs, limping, curvature of the legs and swelling occur when there is an inflammatory arthritis problem.

Knee Osteoarthritis Treatment

In the initial stage of treatment of knee osteoarthritis; oral painkillers can also be started with collagen pills, which are called cartilage supporters. Intra-articular injections are made when necessary. These include autologous serum (PRP - CGF), hyaluronic acid and stem cell applications, which have been widely applied recently. Contrary to popular belief, PRP is not a stem cell application. PRP is the injection of healing cells into the knee after the patient's own blood is taken and processed.

In stem cell, on the other hand, after taking some of the fat around the patient's navel, stem cells are obtained by processing and injected into the patient.
Prolotherapy method has also been successfully applied in the treatment of arthritis in recent years.
Another treatment method is the procedure of burning the genicular nerves that receive knee pain sensation with RF.
