Cornea

The cornea is the transparent layer of the eye, located at the front of the eye and plays a major role in visual function. It is a transparent, avascular tissue. It is very rich in sensory nerves. It has a spherical structure in the center. Its thickness is 0.5-0.6 mm in the center, thickens towards the periphery and reaches 0.9 mm.
